Getting To Know Rock Hill Dentist Dr. Heather Johnson

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We recently sat down with Dr. Heather Johnson of India Hook Dental for a quick interview to find out more about her.

Q: Where are you originally from?

Dr. Johnson: I’m originally from Seymour, TN, and now call Rock Hill, SC my home. I went to college at Carson Newman College in east Tennessee, where I studied Biochemistry and Art. It was during this time that I realized what a perfect fit dentistry was for me. It is the perfect combination of science, art, and caring for people.

Q: What kind of activities do you do outside the office?

Dr. Johnson: Outside of the office, I refuel with things I love. The Ralph Waldo Emerson quote “live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air” is something I try to keep in mind when I’m deciding how to spend my time. I love being outside. I love to backpack, hike, mountain bike, road bike, and run to name a few. I also really enjoy practicing yoga, competing in triathlons, and meeting new people through all of these activities. I like to cook, and am always looking to try something new. I spend a lot of time drawing and painting, and enjoy sharing that with people. My husband and I love to travel, try new restaurants, and we are slowly renovating our old house over by Winthrop. I am very active and I have a hard time slowing down!

Q: What do you love about Rock Hill?

Dr. Johnson: This town is unlike any other, the people are what make it. I have been so welcomed and I look forward to every opportunity to become more connected with our community. Whether it be community events, like Come See Me, or diving in to meet the needs of our neighbors, I love everything about Rock Hill. Living in the community I serve makes life so rich. Thank you, Rock Hill for making this place great!

Q: Why do you think India Hook Dental is a special dentistry office?

Dr. Johnson: I could go on for years about how incredible our team is. You really just need to be in our office for a few moments before realizing exactly what I’m talking about. We are so gifted with having a group of women who not only care about our patients and take pride in their work, but they are such a beautiful picture of a family. They inspire me everyday with how much they love, encourage, challenge, comfort, and motivate each other. Jen, Lauren and I continue to be moved by how they grow as a team. I am so grateful to practice dentistry with two doctors who share my philosophy of care. I go to a lot of continuing education classes all over the country, so I am around a lot of dentists. What we have between the three of us is very special. I am a better dentist and person because of these two women. They challenge and encourage me daily. Because we have such an amazing group of women, coming to the office is not coming to the dentist…it’s coming to a home.

  • Just wanted to leave a quick review on Claudia! She is an excellent dental hygienist. She is very thorough with her cleanings, she has a sweet personality and takes the time to explain things to you. I 10/10 would recommend Claudia to all of my friends and family.

  • Could not possibly thank Dr. Houck, Gabby, and staff enough for the wonderful care I receive. In addition to excellent dentistry, their compassionate approach and communication really sets them apart. They are always kind, caring, and take time to explain things in detail. Easy to contact the office with any needs, and they are always quick to respond. Highly recommend.

  • If you’re a believer in good vibes and positive energy then this is the place for you. Everyone here is so warm & inviting. They really do feel like family, ya know, the ones you actually like! I’ve been going here for years but when I had my daughter, there was no question about where i would take her for her dental needs. They are so great with her and she is never nervous when we go because they just radiate positivity and make her feel so calm and relaxed. I can’t recommend them enough. Oh, they are also really great with Botox 😉

  • We love IHDC! They do everything possible to ensure our safety, and Alaine is an absolute gem! She treats my daughter with the patience of a saint and we love her for it! The whole team is amazing!

  • My hygienist was Claudia, and I now have a best friend forever. She was so welcoming and kind, put me completely at ease, walked me through all of the procedures, costs, and reasons why, and introduced me to everyone who walked in or by the door. Dr. Smith was equally as helpful and amazing. Every person went out of their way to ensure my comfort and understanding. I NEVER write reviews, and was so impressed that I couldn't wait to get home and write one!

  • Amazing place. Started taking our family there in 2014. Professional, kind, and most importantly excellent at every level of service.
